But I do get your drift. However, there is a particular appeal in spending summers in Belgrade, I've actually made a habit of doing just that and I absolutely love it. What's more, most of my old crowd, now slaving in Northern or Western Europe and other less inviting locations, traditionally choose the month of August to gather in our hometown, that's when we meet, hug, go out and remember the good old days.

Presently, as I'm typing this, I'm looking through my London high-rise window, the city stretches below me, engulfed in fog, drizzle and overall dullness. It's unpleasantly humid and totally depressing and it's been like this for days. It won't be long now, a matter of days, until my flight takes off and takes me away from this sickening miasma and into Belgrade's dry sunny heat. I honestly can't wait.
