"got my back like chiropractic"

My coworker Srdjan came over to my desk this morning.  Hey, want to come with me to the chiropractor, he said.  I promise it will be weird.  Ok, I said.  That's really all I can ask for from an experience.

Crossed the bridge into New Belgrade, navigating the traffic jams, pointing out pretty women.  We had a bit of trouble finding the office, and nearly got lost but for its bright entranceway, the bricks in two tones of brilliant purple.  Inside the office had a basic homeopathic/NewAge type smell, as might be expected.  I was more taken by the collection of ikons and other Christian posters, shrines, etc.  that lined the wals next to the standard anatomical diagrams.

Also, the guy was a bit of a nationalist, he said.  I was reminded of the war criminal Radovan Karadžić, who according to news reports I remembered had posed a a doctor of various New Age-y disciplines in the city of Belgrade for years preceding his arrest.  Chiropractors are aways going to be eccentric though, I think.  There can't be that many different sorts of entirely unlicensed "doctors" in the world anymore.  At home I knew this one, he would lecture about libertarianism as he made the requisite cracks to the spine.  But the guy here did a slight adjustment to my back, and indeed it felt good.  Another side of Belgrade, and a worthwhile bit of bizarre into my workday.
