The way of understanding life and business is very different after the Covid-19 pandemic. The situation experienced has made companies rethink their way of interacting with suppliers, managing their processes or serving customers, in short, communicating internally and externally. A point at which we wanted to stop to find out in what situation the company communications were in Spain.

With the support of Mitel and Euskaltel , MCPRO and MuyCanal launched a survey to deepen the level of adoption of communication and collaboration solutions as a service . Thanks to the participation of 166 professionals, we have been able to draw a vision of what companies have, seek and expect in terms of communications. 
The first relevant conclusion is that the job has changed. 71% of those surveyed reveal that they have flexible work options in their company, which invites them to consider other ways of communicating. "The cloud, and specifically cloud-based business communications, is the main enabler of these new work paradigms as it facilitates the adoption of new generation technology," says Rodrigo González, Country Manager at Mitel Iberia. For his part, José Manuel García, Cloud & Cibersecurity Product Manager of the Euskaltel group, points to the challenges of these models:

“The pandemic has revolutionized the way we work. But, beyond this exception, any change requires some time for its successful implementation in a company, both to overcome the traditional organizational and cultural barriers and due to the need to amortize the systems it already has, as well as the allocation of resources for maintaining the cloud, which imposes a shift in the priorities of IT managers.

Within the business needs, the consolidation of the infrastructure is important for 28% of those surveyed. At this point, the report finds that companies primarily use on-premises and private cloud environments. The latter is used in 27.2% of the cases consulted. Closely followed by the on-premises option with some tools in the cloud (26.6%) or the pure on-premises with the anticipation of going to the cloud in different timeframes (28.4%). Much further away is the public cloud (15.4%) and other technological architecture formats.
