Think Purple

Purple cars and purple phones and purple plums. Smell the purple orchids and lisianthus. Breathe in the purple mountains and stand in purple rain. I am immersed in the deep purple that falls over sleepy garden walls.

Purple is amethyst and eggplant. It is indigo, lavender, lilac, mauve, mulberry, blueberry, orchid, plum, pomegranate, puce, royal, thistle, and violet.

Wine is not purple - but it makes me feel purple.

Purple sounds funny. Like grape soda popping between the lips. It is bubbly and serene. It is relaxation and royalty.  And what about the "one-eyed one-horned flying purple people eater" - is it a people-eater that is purple? Or does it only eat purple people? It would often be quite hungry. The Joker has a purple suit, but his vest is green.

Purple is Milka and Cadbury Dairy Milk. It is Ralph Lauren's Purple Label. Yahoo! is purple and Crown Royal  whiskey. Purple is the liturgical tone of Lent and Advent, the color of the crown chakra, and is the color of the plant Jupiter. Some people say Neptune is purple - some blue.

The purple poker chip is worth $5,000.

The Color Purple. The Purple Rose of Cairo. I never saw a Purple Cow.  And Purple Haze, of course.

Soldiers get a Purple Heart for courage. The emperor of Byzantium signed his edicts in purple ink. Caesar Augustus declared that only the emperor could wear purple. And the Emperor was called "The Purple."

We can elaborate and write in purple prose, and the nobility is said to be born to the purple. When we have a purple patch, it means we are having good luck.

People say purple means good judgment, spirituality, and meditative mindsets. It is associated with magic, mystery, and Barney, the big purple dinosaur.  It gives peace of mind and a sense of purpose. Purple indicates luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also feminine and romantic.

Dinl-Chi is purple in Navaho. Pourpre in French. And they call bishops "la pourpre".  Morado in Spanish. Porpora in Italian. The Germans say lila after the flower. In Hindi it is पर्पल (parpala but pronounced like "purple").

Purpleness, empurple, purpurate, purplish, violet, imperial, majestic, regal. The purple mombin is a tree, and no one lives in purple Chinese houses - they are flowers.

Was just about to sit and hammer up a comment about purple being an extremely ugly colour. Indeed, the colour of that car above is too revolting.

However, when you stop & think, it really works against black, doesn't it?
And certain shades of purple look cheerfully camp in conjunction with yellow. It's some record labels which I have in mind....

Actually, it is not a common purple color, but, according to some sources, a purple gold color.

Symbolizing the mixture of power (represented by gold) and justice (represented by puprle). The power of justice, or the power that originates from and strives for justice.
