Born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa, leaving shortly after high school to pursue a career in regime changing. Spent six years in the U.S. Army as a Serbian translator/other various job doer when the army decides to send Serbian translators to Iraq, twice. Met Serbian wife while stationed in Germany and moved to Serbia in September of 2007 to work as a freelance translator. Currently spends time getting aquainted with taxi drivers who love to talk about American politics and reading blogs on B92.
