James Lyon

James LyonBorn in Boston, Massachusetts, he has lived in Alabama, Bosnia and Herzegovina, California, England, Florida, Georgia, Germany, Louisiana, Maryland, the Soviet Union, SFRY, SRY, Serbia and Utah. He has studied and worked in various parts of the former Yugoslavia for over 13 years, including 1980-81, 1993-94, 1995, and 1996 to the present. Although he works for a well-known non-governmental organisation, everyone is convinced he works for the CIA, MI6 or Mossad, and they also think he is a smuggler and businessman. He has written and lectured extensively on the politics, history and economics of the lands of the former Yugoslavia. He received a Ph.D. in Modern Balkan History from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.A. in International Relations and B.A. in Russian from Brigham Young University. His hobbies include sailing, hiking, and pissing off ultra-nationalist throughout former Yugoslavia and in their diasporas. He is currently writing a Yugo-American novel during his spare time and proudly wears the title of "most-hated foreigner in Serbia". He claims he is not a spy.
