 Paris bridge named after feminist Simone de Beauvoir. The 37th bridge over the Seine bears the name of a literary icon. A footbridge in honour of the French writer and leading feminist Simone> de Beauvoir has been opened in Paris. Designed in the form of two steel intersecting curves, it is part of a regeneration effort in south-eastern parts of the French capital. This is the city's 37th bridge and the first to be named after a woman.
