Further more, the Southeast Europe Regional Women’s Lobby for Peace, Stability and Justice expresses its deep concern for the renewed pressures on the freedom of expression in Serbia.The latest incidents and campaigns against the three women leaders NATASA KANDIC, BILJANA KOVACEVIC, and SONJA BISERKO indicate that the political elite in Serbia are not ready to acknowledge reality, especially in relation to Kosovo status.The Women’s Lobby calls upon the Serbian parliament to take necessary measures to secure freedom of expression and to protect those expressing different views.We also call upon the international community and international organizations present in Serbia to take the necessary steps to this end and make the Serbian government abide with the international conventions of which it is a signatory.
