there is no need to state the obvious

O meni

Place of Birth:
Bajina Bašta. I really like the name of my birthplace. It means Baja's Garden. It sounds even better in French – Jardin du Baja. How exotic is that? Since I left it at the age of two I've been there only once and I have no idea what it looks like. I guess it's one of those jerkwater places Serbia is packed with. I've been told it has beautiful countryside around – Tara mountain, the Drina river and the lake of Perućac are all around it.

Place of Residence:
Let's just hope it's temporary! It's Kragujevac aka Stondville (that's how I call it). Must be bad Karma. I have to be honest – I hate it. Ok, let me see what can I say in its defense. Hm, it has a large and very nice park perfect for outdoor activities (I mean sport people!). It also has a hippodrome where one can take really cheap riding classes (riding a horse of course, let's make things clear!). But, unless you don't like to run all day round and have no intention to learn horse riding for small money, no need to come really. It used to be Serbian capital before Belgrade though, and once progressive but it's pathetic now. First mentioned in Turkish documents from the 15th century as a "village of Kragujevdza" (the name is derived from the bird griffin - "kraguj" in Serbian) Good landscape around enjoyable for bicycle riding during spring and summer. However, if you happened to stray here do visit Oplenac – the Mausoleum of Karađorđević dynasty, some 40 km from Kragujevac. It is worth the trip.

My Country:
First of all, we have beautiful flag! And turbulent history exciting and bloody enough for at least five countries and nations. You probably heard a lot about it on TV in recent years, but don't believe everything you hear! You think I am biased when it comes to Serbia? Ok, than here is what my Greek friend posted at his web site about my country (just for the record, he has visited more than 150 countries!): "Most people are surprised when they hear that this is my favourite country. So why do I like Serbia best? Perhaps because my welcome here has always been by far the most warm-hearted of anywhere. The people here, victims to a political situation that they had no control of, have retained a traditional feeling of human relationships to save themselves from a crumbling exterior. This has resulted in a very warm, kind, open and sincere nation which holds itself with a pride in spite of extremely difficult circumstances and political isolation."

Sign:
Leo with ascendant in Libra and Moon in Sagittarius. Just for the record and those who are into astrology, my natal Uranus falls on my ascendant. So, you see, it's not me, it's stars to be blamed.

Name:
Etymologically, the name derives from alex-, the compound-form of alexis (from the Proto-Indo-European *alek-), meaning "refuge, protection, defence," together with -andros, the compound form of andēr, the Greek word for "man." Thus it may be roughly translated as "protector of man." The name was one of the titles - epithets - given to the Greek goddess Hera and as such is usually taken to mean "one who comes to the aid of warriors." In the Iliad, the character Paris is known also as Alexander. The name's popularity was spread throughout the Hellenistic world by the military conquests of King Alexander III of Macedon, commonly known as "Alexander the Great" (Μέγας Αλέξανδρος).
As for Lambros, that's not really my family name. I got it during one esoteric rite at the ancient Sanctuary of the Great Gods in the island of Samothraki, Greece, back in 2002 by the master of the rite.

Nicknames:
aleX, Sasha, Disco King

Appearance:
Well, Angelina Jolie finds me handsome. Anyway, basic facts go like this –
high: 190cm;
weight: 87kg (plus, minus kilo or two);
eyes: green;
hair: naturally light brown but often blond or black;
shoe size: 45;
endowment: Jeez, who has put this inquiry here ?!?!

Personality:
This verse by Robbie will help you to get an idea:

So unimpressed but so in awe
Such a saint but such a whore
So self aware so full of shit
So indecisive so adamant

So rock and roll so corporate suit
So damn ugly, so damn cute
So well trained, so animal
So need your love, so fuck you all

Tattoos:
One (so far). Alexander the Great with the horns of Zeus Ammon, copied from the silver tetradrachm issued by Lysimachos, 306-281 B.C.

Formal Education:
I was 155th generation of The First Kragujevačka gimnazija, one of the oldest and the most respectful high schools among Serbs. Though I was extremely bored in the school I am very proud of my high school which is of great historical importance in many ways. On October 21st 1941 German occupiers took away from their desks and than executed 300 students together with their professors, a crime without precedent.
I have finished Faculty of Philosophy at the Belgrade University, History of Art department, after failing to find any interest in tourist management at the College of Limassol, Cyprus. History of Art is beautiful but totally useless if you live in a country like Serbia. Anyway, I do not regret it, can't imagine myself working in a bank. Would I do the same all over again? No! I would probably become fitness instructor.

Favorite Painters:
Since I am art historian I guess I am expected to have favorite painters. They are too many but if we rephrase the question – who I would die for to have on my walls, the answer is Tamara de Lempicka and El Greco.

Political Views:
Radical nationalist when in the company of cosmopolitans and globalists and liberal cosmopolitan when in company of nationalists (can't help it to oppose, it's my instinct). In reality, liberal to the fullest. I do honestly believe no one should be judged by the color of the skin, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or whatsoever. Political correctness is one of the things that annoys me the most.

Religion:
Atheist. Baptized as an Orthodox Christian at the age of 17 and formally member of the Serbian Orthodox Church. However, Christianity has influenced me only at the artistic and aesthetic level (I just love religious art). As for the teachings I share lord Byron's view – "I have a great mind to believe in Christianity for the mere pleasure of fancying I may be damned". Anyway, fascinated by religions and always eager to learn about the subject. My stand is that religions mean fragmentation, don't wanna see the world in a fragmented and limited way. Disgusted by Vatican and Pope (just can't stand those hypocrites he leads) and intolerance toward personal liberties of Islamic societies.
Madonna's crucifixion on the disco cross during "Live to Tell" within her "Confessions tour" is my the most religious experience. It made me cry.

Favorite Artist:
Madonna!!!! My divine inspiration! I saw her five times performing live – "Blond Ambition" 1990, "Reinvention" 2004, "Confessions" 2006 and "Sticky and Sweet" 2008 and "Sticky and Sweet" again in 2009. Let me tell you – indescribable!

Favorite Actress:
Pamela Sue Martin (those eyes), Victoria Abril (the scene when she is crying in "High Heels" during "Un Ano de Amor" - man!)

Favorite Actor:
Rudolph Valentino, Jude Law (I've been told many times we resemble a bit; well, that must be one of the better compliments he got!)

Favorite Music:

* techno -house, house, chill out (I love Buddha Bar compilations)
* some good pop (Kylie) :)))
* hate rock, hard rock, jazz, domestic pop and domestic folk trash ....

Favorite Song:
Like a Virgin (a sort of personal anthem)

Favorite Quotations:
* The greatest trick the Devil ever played was convincing the world he didn't exist. (Keyser Soze, The Usual Suspects)
* To be normal is the ideal aim of unsuccessful. (Carl Gustav Jung)
* The trouble is, if you don't risk anything, you risk even more. (Erica Jong)
* The Devil can cite Scripture for his purpose. (William Shakespeare)
* Nothing makes the Darkness go like the Light. (Madonna)

Favorite Food:
Planning to invite me for a dinner? Ok, some sort of pasta is always a good choice. As well as white chicken meat. And yes, I do like sweets, a chocolate cake would be just fine too.

What impress me the most:
Generosity

What I find extremely seXy:
Vulnerability

What annoys me:
Laziness (especially my own), smokers, Pope, Mariah Carey, reality shows – Big Brother being the first (people, get the life!), Paris Hilton (what exactly is she famous for?), imbecilic American movies (Air Force 1, Peacemaker, Independence Day ... ), journalism and journalists (Christiane Amanpuor being the champion, TV (99% of it, commercials above all), absence of ecological awareness, narrow-mindedness, unfriendliness ...

Career:
Actually I don't have it. Only a long list of jobs I performed so far: I was a model for a year in Cyprus (don't look like that, I used to have more hair back those days), I was a waiter (an awful one), orange picker for one season in Greece, salesman, journalist, translator, English language teacher, art teacher, author, PR assistant of the Belgrade Fashion Week ... the beat goes on ...
