Kao uvod u Merlinka festival www.merlinka.com koji će biti održan od 12. do 16. decembra 2013. godine u Domu omladine Beograda, u Muzeju Jugoslovenske kinoteke, Magacinu u Kraljevića Marka i KC Grad organizuju se besplatne projekcije filmova Johna Watersa. John Waters je jedan od najznačajnijih LGBT režisera 20. veka koji je svojim filmovima šokirao američku i svetsku javnost i od svog anonimnog komšije i prijatelja napravio zvezdu Divine.
Dokumentarni film "Ja sam Divajn" otvoriće 12. decembra u 21 čas Merlinka festival, što je i bio povod ove retrospektive.

The ongoing crisis in Serbia, the devastating effects of flooding on countless homes, buildings, people, and animals over a very large part of the country, seems to have brought the humanitarians out in droves. More than 3,000 able-bodied men and women marched on Sabac to shore up the floodwalls. Humanitarian aid to the victims of the floods poured in from around the country and from abroad. People have donated their time, their money, their clothes, their food, and their Facebook pages to the humanitarian effort.

For many years, I have been looking for an adequate explanation for traffic in the White City. I have wondered why it was ok to come to a stop at a red light and then step out of your car and go get a coffee.
The question of right-of-way was fairly easy to figure out - everyone has it. At the same time. Especially at a four-way intersection with six ancillary roads leading into it. Why waste time trying to figure out who has priority when the answer is obviously me? And when you need to transfer (quite suddenly) from the far left lane to the far right, you just do it. Everyone will always get out of the way.
And they will greet you with friendly honking as you go.
It is a scourge on our society. We must root it out and brutalize offenders in a very public way so as to discourage future criminal acts.
I plan to write a letter to the City of Belgrade protesting the arrest of this woman. If the point of her arrest was to demonstrate the power of the police and the weak position of our citizenry, then jail is NOT the answer.

I pored brojnih tehnoloških otkrića i pronalazaka smišljenih da mu olakšaju svakodnevno funkcionisanje - čovek današnjice deluje nesigurnije no ikad u svojoj novijoj povesti.
Ispražnjena značenja i velike ideje (koje su u međuvremenu potrošile svoje pokretačke potencijale) njegov život svele su na svakodnevni napor prevazilaženja zjapa koji stoji između potreba i mogućnosti - odnosno ispražnjenosti unutrašnjih i neselektivne prenatrpanosti spoljašnjih svetova i sadržaja. Kriza vremena u kom živimo prevashodno je kriza ideja i ona svakako nije zaobišla ni umetnost. Šta, dakle, u takvoj konstelaciji ostaje kao moguća (poželjna) strategija umetniku/umetnosti našeg vremena? Da li je to davanje odgovora na ionako konfuzna i do kraja ne uvek sasvim lako/jasno dokučiva i čitljiva pitanja - ili, moguće, pokušaj da se pomenuta potraga artikuliše nastojanjem da se praznina o kojoj je reč: omeđi, artikuliše, dokuči, ograniči, savlada, prevaziđe, relativizuje, ignoriše, ironiše…
Slikar Tadija Janičić odlučio se, promišljeno, za ovaj drugi pristup.
-Džejn, da li bi na našem putovanju po Evropi prvo želelela da vidimo Sikstinsku kapelu ili Luvr? Pitao sam je odmah po povratku sa Nijagarinih vodopada. Moje pitanje je imalo svoju dugu predistoriju. Džejn, mlada studenkinja umetnosti, maštala je da u nekom potkrovlju Monmartra slika i živi. Zaljubljena Džejn je želela da zajedno odemo u Veneciju. Sredovečna Džejn je želela sve to zajedno plus ulicu Sv. Onorea u Parizu sa svim svojim raskošnim izlozima. Otići u Italiju i Pariz bio je san većine studenata naše generacije. Odlazili su samo bogati. Godine su prilazile, a ja sam Džejn svake godine uveravao kako će se njen san ostvariti sledećeg leta. Videti Sikstinsku kapelu i Luvr za Džejn je bilo i pitanje profesionalnog dostojanstva, jer Džejn godinama uspešno vodi malu prodajnu galeriju na Brodveju.
